この度、久住蒸溜所シングルモルト第2弾として「シングルモルト久住 sora 2025」をリリースすることとなりました。久住蒸溜所のシングルモルトとして「ザ・ファースト」のデザインを踏襲しながら、移ろいゆく季節の時々とそのアイテムから感じられるイメージを「久住の空」をテーマに表現しました。

第一弾となる「sora2025」は、「秋の気配が漂い始めたばかりの夏の終わり、日が傾きかけた頃」。

ブレンダーの武石によると、「どこか乾いた感じのオレンジ」だと言います。

「THE FIRSTでは「グリーン」や「イエロー」の要素が強かったけれど、今回のブレンドでは、より色づいた果実感やピーテッド原酒の中にある日光を浴びた土のような香りが「オレンジ」を連想させる。」とのこと。

ピーテッド原酒を含む複数の熟成原酒を慎重にブレンドしたシングルモルトで、前面にしっかりと香る色づいた果実のフルーティさと、後から重なるように出るピート香が広がりを感じさせます。複雑で厚みのある原酒の特徴はそのままに、より多層的になったフルーティさも楽しめるよう仕上げました。

味: アプリコット、ドライオレンジ、三温糖、りんご飴、牧草、サワークリーム

Kuju Distillery Announces Second Single Malt Release: Single Malt Kuju sora 2025

We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of our second single malt whisky, Single Malt Kuju sora 2025.

This new series adopts the core design aesthetic of our first single malt, “THE FIRST,” but focuses on the concept of “Kuju’s Sky” (Kuju no Sora) to capture the imagery evoked by the changing seasons and the spirit of each release.

The inaugural bottle in this new sora series, sora 2025, represents “The end of summer, just as the first hints of autumn appear, as the sun begins to set.”

According to our Blender, Takeishi, the flavor profile is best described as “a somewhat dry orange.”

He notes, “While THE FIRST had strong ‘green’ and ‘yellow’ elements, this new blend’s deep fruity notes, along with the scent of sun-drenched earth within the peated component, bring ‘orange’ to mind.”

This single malt is a carefully crafted blend of multiple aged whiskies, including a peated malt. It offers a clear, front-facing aroma of deeply colored, ripe fruit, followed by a spreading layer of peat smoke that builds upon the initial notes, creating a sense of breadth and expansiveness. While retaining the complex and robust character of our aged whiskies, this expression is refined to offer an even more multi-layered fruity profile.

Aroma: Orange, quince, vanilla beans, roasted green tea
Sun-soaked earth, distant bonfire
Taste: Apricot, dried orange, brown sugar, candy apple, grass
Sour cream
Finish: Bitter and oily, oak embers
