久住蒸溜所のシングルモルトに新たなシリーズ「michi(ミチ）」が加わります。

毎年熟成を重ねてゆく原酒や造りの進化の中で、「その年に表現できる久住らしさを追求する」シリーズです。ノンピーテッドのバーボンバレルやリフィルの原酒を主体にブレンド。「RD」は「Road ロード」の略称。年に一度リリース予定です。

新興蒸溜所にとって「〇〇らしい」というハウススタイルを見出すことは、大きな目標であり課題でもあります。稼働からこれまでの月日の中で「久住らしさ」の片鱗が見えてきました。

「複雑」「パワフル」「フルーティー」。

この3つの要素が「久住らしさ」を形作るキーワードであると感じています。
今後、ますます原酒は熟成を重ね、造りは進化していきます。どんな「久住らしさ」が形作られていくのか、頂を目指して進み続ける久住の現在地をお楽しみください。

「michi RD.26」は、緑色の果実香と麦芽の凝縮感のある甘みが特徴です。
特に、青リンゴや洋ナシのような緑のフルーツ香りが「THE FIRST」より強く表現されており、凝縮感のある麦芽の甘味が特徴的で、華やかな味わいになりました。
樽香に調和する原酒由来の個性をご堪能ください。

Introducing “michi”: A New Chapter for Kuju Distillery

We are proud to announce the arrival of “michi,” a new series joining the Kuju Distillery single malt lineup.

As our spirits mature year by year and our craftsmanship continues to evolve, this series seeks to capture the essence of “Kuju-ness” at each specific point in time. Primarily blended from non-peated bourbon barrels and refill casks, the “RD” in the name stands for “Road.” This series is envisioned as an annual release, marking our ongoing journey.

For a young distillery, discovering a definitive “house style” is both a major milestone and a profound challenge. Through the days since we began operations, the contours of what makes us unique have begun to emerge.

Complexity. Power. Fruitiness.

We believe these three keywords form the core of the Kuju identity. As our spirits age further and our techniques refine, our identity will continue to take shape. We invite you to experience the current “elevation” of Kuju as we continue our ascent toward the summit of excellence.

“michi RD.26” is characterized by the aroma of green fruits and the concentrated sweetness of malt. In particular, the notes of green apple and pear are more pronounced here than in “THE FIRST.” Combined with the dense sweetness of the malt, this release offers a truly vibrant and elegant profile. We hope you enjoy this harmony between the cask influence and the inherent character of the spirit.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Green apple, fresh young leaves of broadleaf trees, floral notes, light black tea.

• Palate: Pear, lotus honey, lemongrass, hazelnut.

• Finish: A syrupy sweetness followed by a soft, woody bitterness.
