“Kuju no Sora” – Capturing the Fleeting Moments of Each Season
The theme of “Kuju no Sora” (The Sky of Kuju) expresses the changing seasons and the images evoked by the corresponding items. The first release, “sora 2025,” captures “the late summer when the scent of autumn has just begun to drift, around the time the sun is starting to set.” This single malt is a careful blend of multiple matured whiskies, including peated malt. It is characterized by a prominent and vibrant fruity aroma of ripened fruits at the forefront, followed by an expansive, layered peat smoke that emerges afterward. While retaining the complex and rich characteristics of the original spirit, we finished it to allow enjoyment of an even more multi-layered fruitiness.

移ろいゆく季節とそのアイテムから感じられるイメージを「久住の空」をテーマに表現。第一弾となる「sora2025」は、「秋の気配が漂い始めたばかりの夏の終わり、日が傾きかけた頃」。ピーテッド原酒を含む複数の熟成原酒を慎重にブレンドしたシングルモルトで、前面にしっかりと香る色づいた果実のフルーティさと、後から重なるように出るピート香が広がりを感じさせます。複雑で厚みのある原酒の特徴はそのままに、より多層的になったフルーティさも楽しめるよう仕上げました。

Currently, the only standard bottle available at Kuju Distillery, the Green Drum, was created with the image of the beauty of the majestic grasslands that spread across the Kuju Plateau. This blended malt has flavor notes reminiscent of delicate blue fruits and herbs, and a rich, oily taste. It is a blend of our own malt and imported malts that have been re-aged and re-bottled in Kuju.
